Four senior Bangladeshi political figures, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, will accompany Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus to the United States for the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session.

Alongside Mirza Fakhrul, the delegation will include Naib-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Dr Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Member Secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP) Akhtar Hossain, and Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir to the BNP’s Acting Chairperson.

Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain came up with the development during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Wednesday (Sept 17).

The media briefing was convened to outline Dr Yunus’s participation in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

Dr Yunus is scheduled to leave for the United States on September 22 and is expected to address the General Assembly on September 26.
