A new cohort of young learners has officially begun their higher education journey at the Bangladesh Branch Campus of UCSI University. The campus in Banani, Dhaka, was vibrant with the energy of incoming students as the Orientation Program for the January 2026 semester was held on Saturday. The event was attended by new students, their parents, and members of the university’s academic and administrative leadership.

The orientation was graced by Professor Dr. Muhammad Khushairi bin Muhammad Razuddin, Pro Vice-Chancellor of UCSI University Bangladesh Campus, as the chief guest. The program commenced with the national anthems of Bangladesh and Malaysia, followed by an oath-taking ceremony for the newly admitted students.

The welcome address was delivered by Registrar Professor Shah Samiur Rashid, while the concluding remarks were presented by Professor Dr. Syed Akhtar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Digital Innovation. The event was smoothly hosted by two senior students, Shoshi Hossain and Ahnaf Fateh Hossain.

In his address, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Khushairi congratulated the students on making a strong academic choice, noting that UCSI University is ranked among the world’s top 300 universities and holds the ninth position in Asia. He emphasized that students are beginning their academic journey at a globally recognized institution that offers them the opportunity to grow personally, professionally, and as responsible contributors to society. He also encouraged students and parents to have confidence in UCSI’s high academic standards and its industry-driven, career-focused curriculum.

Welcoming the new intake, Professor Dr. Syed Akhtar Hossain highlighted that students are now part of an institution recognized not only in Malaysia but across the world. He shared that UCSI University Bangladesh is actively working toward establishing a modern, full-scale city campus by 2029, which will significantly expand academic and student-life opportunities.

Registrar Professor Shah Samiur Rashid, in his remarks, reminded students that while their journey at a leading global university will be demanding, it will also be filled with immense opportunities. He advised them to take full advantage of the resources and support available to shape a successful future.

Following the formal session, faculty members introduced students to UCSI University’s academic framework, including program structures, teaching and assessment methods, examinations, and extracurricular activities. The orientation concluded with a guided campus tour, during which students explored classrooms, seminar halls, laboratories, the library, and the sports facilities.
