Registered overseas voters will be able to cast their votes via postal ballot starting from 5:00 PM today for the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election and referendum.
According to the Election Commission, eligible voters can submit their votes by following the prescribed procedure through the official website or the “Postal Vote BD” mobile application, selecting candidates and symbols of their respective constituencies.
After voting, the postal ballots must be sent to Bangladesh by mail and reach the office of the concerned Returning Officer no later than January 25. Voters have been instructed to drop the sealed yellow envelope at the nearest post office or mailbox.
The Election Commission stated that the Postal Vote BD app is equipped with robust security features, ensuring that no one else can cast a vote on behalf of a registered voter, while maintaining complete confidentiality of the ballot.
Officials involved in overseas voter registration said that postal ballots have already been dispatched to more than 767,000 overseas voters residing in 121 countries worldwide.
According to official data, a total of over 1.53 million voters have registered through the Postal Vote BD app to participate in the 13th national election and referendum.
