Cox’s Bazar Rally Venue Packed Ahead of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s Arrival. As part of the election campaign, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman is visiting Cox’s Bazar on Monday (2 February). The rally venue is already packed with people eager to hear his speech.

According to Jamaat-e-Islami’s central assistant secretary general Md. Shahjahan, “The largest venue in Cox’s Bazar has been selected for the rally, where millions of people have gathered to show their support for the 11-party alliance and for the candidates. This is not just a rally; it is turning into a sea of people, and preparations were made accordingly.”

The rally is being chaired by district Amir Adhyaksha Nur Ahmad Anowari and conducted by district secretary Mohammad Zahidul Islam. While central leaders of the 11-party alliance could not attend due to election commitments, regional and district-level leaders are participating and delivering speeches.

On the stage are Jamaat candidates Abdullah Al Faruq for Cox’s Bazar-1 (Chakaria-Pekua) and Shahidul Alam Bahadur for Cox’s Bazar-3 (Sadar-Ramu-Eidgaon), along with other local leaders.

Sources say that as part of his campaign tour, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will first address a rally in Maheshkhali, followed by a gathering at Muktijoddha Maidan in Cox’s Bazar town. Extensive preparations have been made by the party for his visit. After the Cox’s Bazar and Maheshkhali rallies, he will attend another rally in Paduya, Lohagara, Chattogram, before returning to Chattogram city.
