The body of Ali Mamud, a journalist of Daily Dinkal and a member of the BNP Media Cell, was recovered from the National Press Club in Dhaka on Tuesday morning. According to police sources, Mamud’s body was found inside a locked restroom at the Press Club. After noticing that the door had remained closed for a long time, authorities informed his family. The door was later broken in their presence, and the body was recovered.

Police initially suspect that he may have died due to cardiac arrest. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after an autopsy. Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Moniruzzaman said that all legal procedures are being followed and a post-mortem examination is being arranged.

Mamud’s sudden death has shocked political leaders, journalists, and colleagues. BNP leaders expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to his family. Journalist organizations also mourned his passing and demanded a transparent investigation. Authorities stated that no possibility would be ignored and that further action would be taken based on the autopsy report.
