Tarique Rahman will confer the prestigious Ekushey Padak in the morning and inaugurate the Amar Ekushey Book Fair in the afternoon on February 26.

According to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, distinguished individuals will receive the Ekushey Padak in recognition of their outstanding contributions in various fields.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will attend the inauguration ceremony of the book fair at the premises of Bangla Academy in Dhaka.

Officials said preparations for both events have been completed. In a supportive move for the publishing industry, the government has waived stall fees for participating publishers at this year’s fair, a decision widely welcomed by the publishing community.

The Amar Ekushey Book Fair remains one of the largest cultural events in Bangladesh, commemorating the spirit of the Language Movement while promoting literature and knowledge.
