A new cohort of students began their higher education journey at UCSI University’s Bangladesh campus in Banani today, as the institution held an orientation program for the May 2026 semester. The event welcomed fresh students, their guardians. Faculty members introduced them to campus life, academic expectations and student services.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Kushairi bin Muhammad Rajuddin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of UCSI UniversityBangladesh campus attended the orientation as the chief guest. The program opened with the national anthems of Bangladesh and Malaysia, followed by the administration of the new student pledge.
Welcoming the new students, Professor Syed Akhtar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Digital Innovation, and Dr. Zoha Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Liberal Arts, offered remarks and encouragement. Registrar Professor Dr. Shah Samiur Rashid delivered the concluding address and vote of thanks. Provost Major Sumon Subhan (Retd.) spoke seperately to the students’ guardians. The session was hosted by senior student Kamrul Jamil. New student representative Naoshin Tabassum Juthi shared her impressions on behalf of the incoming class.
In his address, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Kushairi praised students and their families for choosing UCSI University, noting the institution’s standing among the world’s leading universities, ranked within the top 300 globally and eighth in South Asia. He emphasized that enrolling at a world-class university offers students the opportunity to fulfill personal, family, and national aspirations. He urged students and parents to trust UCSI’s academic standards and its industry-aligned, employability-focused curriculum.
Professor Syed Akhtar Hossain reiterated the university’s commitment to supporting students’ ambitions, describing UCSI as one of Malaysia’s and the world’s foremost institutions.
Registrar Professor Shah Samiur Rashid advised students to view their university years as both challenging and richly opportunistic and encouraged them to make the most of these formative years.
Following the formal presentations, faculty members provided detailed briefings on the university’s academic structure, curriculum and course overviews, teaching methods, assessment procedures, and extracurricular opportunities.
New students then toured the campus facilities, including classrooms, seminar rooms, laboratories, the library, and sports zones.
