Murder case against 148 people including Hasina-Quader-Kamal

A case has been filed against 148 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal for allegedly shooting and killing a person named Liton Hasan Lalu in Mirpur of the capital during the student movement.

Hasan's brother Milon filed the case on Monday (August 19) in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan of Dhaka.

At that time, the court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and ordered Mirpur Model Police Station to take the complaint as a statement. The plaintiff's lawyer Iltutmish Saudagar confirmed the case.

The notable accused in the case are- Former Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Member of Parliament Mainul Hossain Khan (Nikhil), Ilyas Molla, Kamal Ahmed Majumder, IGP Abdullah Al Mamun, DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, DIG Harun-or-Rashid, Additional Commissioner Biplab Kumar, Dhaka North Awami League Member Secretary SM Mannan (Kochi).

It is alleged in the case that Hasan participated in the march on August 4 during a peaceful movement for the fair and reasonable demands of the students in the country. Around 2:00 PM, 200 to 300 unidentified students along with other accused fired illegal weapons at the movement of the students under the orders of Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Abdullah Al Mamun, Harun-ur-Rashid, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Biplab Kumar and Habibur Rahman. Hasan was shot dead by the bullets of unknown accused. Hasan died on August 7 while undergoing treatment at Agargaon Neuro Science Hospital.

Incidentally, after the fall of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, 16 cases were filed against her; Out of which 15 cases have been charged with murder.
