Police have arrested a person from Gaibandha city's Bus Terminal area in connection with the attack on physicians at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Sanjay Pal was arrested early Monday (Septrmber 2) for his alleged involvement in the attack incident, superintendent of Gaibandha police Mosharraf Hossain confirmed.

Legal steps would be taken against him, the police official said, adding a case was also filed in this connection.

The doctors of all public and private hospitals across the country went on a complete shutdown, protesting attack on physicians and vandalism carried out by relatives of a patient at the emergency department of DMCH.

A case was filed with Shahbagh Police Station on Sunday (Septrmber 1) over the attack on the doctors at DMCH.

Amir Hossain, an office assistant of the hospital, filed the cases accusing four named, including BUBT teacher and three students, and 50 unnamed people.
