The Directorate of Environment (DOE) today requested passengers and staff to avoid using single-use plastic and polythene during Eid journeys by launch.

The DOE urged travelers to dispose of waste in designated bins instead of throwing it into rivers.

A mobile court, led by an executive magistrate, conducted a drive at Sadarghat Launch Terminal on Friday night, inspecting waste management and enforcing regulations.

Launch authorities were instructed to install bins, while River Police were tasked with monitoring compliance.

Additionally, the DOE shut down a waste battery factory in Konabari for environmental violations, promising continued enforcement actions.
