The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations were published on Thursday (July 10), showing a significant decline in performance compared to the previous year.

According to the Ministry of Education, the average pass rate across 11 education boards in the country stands at 68.45 percent, a steep fall from 83.03 percent in 2024.

The results were officially announced at 2:00 pm on Thursday (July 10) .

This year, the SSC and equivalent exams were held from April 10 to May 13, with a total of 1,928,970 students registered to take part. Among them, 9,67,739 were female and 9,61,231 were male.

Education officials and analysts have attributed the drop in pass rate to stricter evaluation standards and the curriculum transition challenges following the pandemic years.
